On this 3 year diploma students will learn classical Arabic, memorise the Quran and study Islamic Sciences according to the traditional methodology.
This is a two year course where students will learn the Arabic language, Memorise Quran and study the Islamic Sciences like Fiqh, Tawheed & Aqidah, Tafseer, Sunnah and Hadith, Seerah and History. It equips students to become teachers of Islamic sciences, Imam’s of Masajid, Khateebs and proficient students of knowledge.
This course is intended for the students who are interested in developing reading, writing and spoken Arabic skills based on grammatical principles. It offers the student the opportunity to develop high frequency vocabulary from a variety of topics and themes. Students will be expected to make a steady progression across the four main strands of study namely: speaking, listening, reading & writing. Students will be expected to attend classes as well as committing 4 hours of self-guided study to develop the expected breadth and depth of skill competencies at this level
Syllabus: Madinah Arabic 1 (Beginners) 2 (intermediate) & 3
Fiqh, Islamic Jurisprudence, covers an introduction to the principles of Fiqh, and the historical development of the schools of Law followed by a study of the ritual worship; purification, prayer, zakat, fasting and hajj with reference to the evidences from the Quran, Sunnah and scholarly consensus.
Tawheed & Aqidah
Tawheed, Monotheism, introduces the student to the most essential and important foundation of the Islamic faith, the Oneness of God. The course covers the three levels of the religion, islam, emaan and ihsaan, the meaning of monotheism, the meaning shirk (polytheism), and the meaing and pillars of emaan (belief).
Seerah (Prophet’s biography)
Seerah introduces students to the life and events of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It covers the main incidents and lessons to be learnt from the Prophet’s biography, starting from the Arab social and and political situation before revelation to the migration to Madinah and building the first Masjid in Islam.
Revealed Scripture: Quran and Hadith
The Revealed scripture introduces students to the primary sources of Islam, the Qur’an and Hadith. As well as a basic understanding of the methods for Tafsir of Quran (interpretation) and Mustalah Hadith (Science of hadith categorisation), students will also explore selected verses of the Quran and Hadith texts to have a better understanding of the Islamic tradition.

Memorise Quran with tajweed and attain an Ijazah (license and permission to teach) and sanad (chain) that goes all the way back to the Prophet Muhammad (May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) on our Itqaan Quran Memorisation Courses. The course runs for one year, with breaks for the usual holidays. Classes are small, with a maximimum of 6 students per class.
