Shaykh Hamad al-Haajri is the head of Department of Comparative Fiqh and Siyaasah al-Shar’iah (Islamic Politics), Shariah Faculty of Kuwait University. The Shaykh holds a BA, MA and PhD from the Islamic University of Madinah. He specialises in Fiqh al-Maqarin (Comparative Fiqh) and contemporary Financial Transactions, with his PhD thesis being ‘Qawa’id wa Dawabit al-Fiqhhiyyah fi al-Damaan al-Maalee: Diraasah Maqaarinah’ (A comparative study of Fiqh Principles of Warranties). He taught ‘al-usul min ‘ilm al-usul’ on the usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Fiqh) intensive weekend course.
