Overview
This is the perfect course for anyone who wants to prepare for our Arabic and Islamic Sciences Diploma. The first two terms will cover books from the famous Gateway to Arabic series. The last term will focus on reading the 30th Juz of the Qur’an from the Mushaf, as well as memorising it.
Course Structure:
- 3 term exams and 1 final exam
- 2 hours a week
- Two terms of Arabic and One term of Quran
Course Summary & Requirements:
- Duration: 1 year
- Price: £300 for the year
- Time: On Wednesday 16:00 - 18:00 for brothers || On Saturdays 16:00 - 18:00 for sisters
- Students must be over 18 years old
- Minimum 10 students for class to run, maximum 26 students
- Students are not expected to be able to read the Arabic language.
- Students can join the Arabic and Islamic Diploma in the following year.
Who is the course for?
This course is best for anyone with no previous knowledge of Arabic as the course will start from the Arabic Alphabet. By the end of this course, students will be able to formulate basic sentences in Arabic and read the 30th Juz of the Qur’an from the Mushaf.
Learning Path
The Arabic is based on the renowned Gateway to Arabic book series authored by Dr. Imran Hamza Alawiye. Students will study and progress in building up their knowledge of Arabic grammar and vocabulary, through written exercises, spoken passages of dialogue and comprehension exercises.
This will go through the recognition of Arabic letters in their isolate form, forming them and indicating the correct writing form, the short vowels of Fatha, Kasra & Dhamma, the Nunation (Tanween), the long vowels, Shaddah, moon/sun letters and so on.
Students will move onto studying Juz 30 as well as memorising some of the chapters.
