This Foundation Course is designed specifically for complete beginners, starting from the Arabic alphabet and progressing through key grammar, vocabulary, and basic communication. Alongside language learning, students will gain a foundational understanding of Islamic beliefs and practice, focusing on Tawheed, Fiqh, and selected Hadiths
Course Goals
- Develop the ability to read and write Arabic confidently
- Build a strong foundation in Arabic grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure
- Understand the core principles of Tawheed and Fiqh
- Memorize and reflect on selected Hadiths and their relevance to daily life
Course Structure:
- Lectures, Seminars, Exams and Student Presentations

Course Summary & Requirements
- Duration: 3 terms
- Price: £400 for the year (£25.00 discount if you pay in full)
- Time: Sundays AM (Women) / Sundays PM (Men)
- Students must be over 18 years old
- Minimum 10 students for class to run
- Complete Beginners. Students are not expected to be able to read the Arabic language.

- Furnish an in-depth comprehension of the Arabic language, establishing the basis for reading, writing, and conversation skills.
- Deliver an exhaustive understanding of essential Islamic principles and their practical implementations in everyday life.
- Cultivate an appreciation for Islamic teachings and stimulate personal spiritual advancement and community development.
Additional information
This course is best for anyone with no previous knowledge of Arabic as the course will start from the Arabic Alphabet.
Assessment Techniques: Evaluation will rely on active participation, assignments, and tests to assess students’ grasp of the course material and their ability to utilize learned concepts and skills.
Necessary Materials: Students must obtain the “Gateway to Arabic” Book 1 and 2. We will provide additional course resources as required.
Course Regulations: Students must actively participate, timely submit assignments, maintain academic integrity, and comply with all other course regulations.
